Sinigang na Baboy (Pork Sinigang) is Filipino's one of a kind menu. It's a mouth watering recipe combined with the main ingredient which is Tamarind (Sampalok). I really like this dish because of the sour and spicy taste that blends well with variety of vegetables.
So if you're looking to a dish that's tempting, hot and sour in taste? I'm sure you'll love this Sinigang na Baboy..even your family!

Ingredients:
1/2 kilo Pork (cut into cubes)
1 onion (cut into four)
1 tomato (cut into four)
1 gabi or taro (cut into four)
1 medium size radish or labanos (sliced thinly)
1 bundled string beans or sitaw (cut into four)
3-5 pcs. okra (cut into two)
2 bundled pechay
2 red chili (optional)
1-2 long green chili
1 big pack tamarind powder (you can also use fresh tamarind)
Salt to taste
*you can also add other vegetables that's not listed above*

Let's start cooking!
1. Heat pan and add the pork cubes.
2. Pour some water and add onions, tomatoes, red chili and green chili.
3. Let it boil until pork is tender.
4. Add the 1st batch of vegetables: taro and radish. Let it boil until taro and radish are well-cook.
5. Add the 2nd batch of vegetables: okra and string beans. Cover for about 3-5 minutes.
6. Add in the tamarind powder and blend well.
7. Let it boil for about a minute.
8. Add the last vegetable which is pechay and cover again for about a minute.
9. Season with salt.
10. Serve while it's hot. Bon appetit! :D

Have you tried putting a Cellophane noodles or Sotanghon in your chicken recipe? Sotanghon or Cellophane noodles are a type of transparent noodle made from starch and water. This is the easiest way of having a chicken soup recipe with a new ingredient in it. This is best serve during rainy season because of it's warm taste and feel :)

Ingredients:
1/2 kilo Chicken
3-4 Garlic cloves
1 Onion
2-3 tbsp Patis (Fish Sauce)
2 bundle Sotanghon (Cellophane Noodles) soaked with water
Water (amount depends)
Salt and Pepper to taste
MSG (Ajinomoto) optional

Let's start cooking!
1. Heat pan and pour small amount of cooking oil.
2. Saute garlic and onions.
3. Add patis or fish sauce and mix well.
4. Add chickens and blend it well. Cover it and wait for the chickens to be tender.
5. If the chickens are tender enough, pour some water and let it boil.
6. Drain soaked sotanghon.
7. If it's boiling already, add drained sotanghon and blend it well with chickens.
8. Season it with salt, pepper and MSG (optional)
9. Serve while it's hot!

-Another unique way of cooking chicken adobo? Then here's what you are looking for! Hot and spicy with a sweetness inside and out! Try it!-

Ingredients:
1 kilo chicken
4 pcs. chili (siling labuyo)
1 clove garlic (minced)
1 bay leaf
1 tbsp. pepper
1/4 cup oyster sauce
1/4 cup soy sauce
1/4 cup water
1 tbsp. brown sugar

Let's start Cooking!
1.Mix half of the salt, pepper, chili and garlic into bowl
2. Marinate the chicken for two hrs. or overnight
3. In a pan, bring water, vinegar, soy sauce, oyster sauce, bay leaf and brown sugar to a simmer
4. Allow vinegar to evaporate
5. Season with remaining salt and pepper
6. In another pan, heat oil then brown garlic and chicken
7. Scoop out the pieces as they brown and drop into simmering sauce
8. Lower heat and add the remaining chili
9. Cover and cook until chicken is tender
10. Serve while hot! Bon appetit! =D

Chilicious adobo
-Feel the different taste of chicken when you add some guisantes on your ingredients!-

Ingredients:
1/2 kilo chicken
1 onion (chopped)
1/2 clove garlic (minced)
1 red bell pepper (sliced)
1 can cooked Guisantes
3 tbsp. fish sauce
1 cup of water
3 tsp. cornstarch diluted in 1/4 cup water

Let's start Cooking!
1. Pour oil into pan and saute garlic, onion and red bell pepper
2. Add the fish sauce and mix
3. Add the chicken
4. Add cup of water
5. Bring to boil until chicken is tender
6. Add cornstarch
7. Mix gently until sauce thickens
8. Add guisantes and mix well
9. Ready to serve! Bon appetit! =D

-have this saucy beef with a blend of refreshing broccoli!-

Ingredients:
1/2 kilo beef tenderloin (cut into strips)
1 broccoli
1/2 clove garlic (minced)

(for marinating beef)
4 tbsp. soy sauce
2 tbsp. rice wine or red wine
1 tsp. cornstarch
1 tsp. pepper

(for the sauce)
4 tbsp. oyster sauce
2 tsp. rice wine or red wine
2 tbsp. soy sauce
1 beef cube dissolved in 1/4 cup water

Let's start Cooking!
1. Marinate first the beef strips overnight
2. Heat pan and pour some cooking oil
3. Fry beef strips and wait until tender
4. In a separate pan, boil half amount of water
5. Put chopped broccoli into boiling water and cook for 1 minute
6. Transfer into a separate bowl filled with cold water (then strain it later)
7. Mix now all the ingredients for the sauce
8. Put the sauce into beef and mix
9. Season with salt and add the broccoli
10. Serve! Bon appetit! =D

Ingredients:
3/4 kilo pork (leg part)
2 pcs. Japanese corn (cut into 4 parts)
2 pcs. eggplant (cut into squares)
1 whole cabbage (cut into 2 parts)
5 pcs. saging na saba or cardava bananas (cut into squares)
1 pc. gabi or taro (cut into squares)
10 pcs. string beans (bundled into 3)
1 onion (slice)

Let's start Cooking!
1. Into casserole, pour half amount of water then add the pork and onion. Bring to boil.
2. Add the corn
3. When the pork and corn is tender enough, add the gabi/taro, eggplant, bananas and string beans.
4. When all vegetables are tender enough, remove all of it and put into a separate serving plate.
5. Season with salt and MSG (optional) to taste. Add the cabbage. Boil for a while.
6. Remove the corn and cabbage. Put into other vegetables.
7. Serve while hot. Bon appetit! =D

-Shrimp lover? Then you will love this new twist of shrimp recipe!-

Ingredients:
1/2 kilo shrimps
1 clove garlic (minced)
1/4 cup butter (salted or unsalted)
1-1/2 cup soda
1/4 cup celery (parsley)
salt and pepper to taste

Let's start Cooking!

1. In a bowl with shrimp, add the soda and let soak for 10 mins. Set aside
2. Heat the pan and melt the butter
3. Saute garlic into the melted butter until brown
4. Add the soda shrimp mixture
5. Boil until sauce thickens and shrimp absorbs the sauce
6. Add celery, salt and pepper to taste
7. Serve. Bon appetit! =D

-Tired of the usual adobo? Then you should spice up your life with a new twist of native adobo!-

Ingredients:
Chicken cubes (you can also use pork)
1 clove garlic
1 laurel leaf
3 red sili (optional)
3 tsp. soy sauce
1 cup vinegar
1/4 cup water
1 tsp. oyster sauce
3 tsp. coconut milk powder diluted in 1/4 cup water
brown sugar to taste

Let's start Cooking!
1. Mince garlic
2. Into bowl, put the chicken cubes together with minced garlic, laurel leaf, red sili (optional) soy sauce and vinegar
3. Marinate for about 20-30 mins.
4. Bring to boil then add water and wait until vinegar is cooked already
  *how do we know if it is cooked already? It's not sour to smell*
5. If the chicken is tender enough, heat a separate pan and fry the chicken and garlic
6. After frying, return it to the marinated sauce
7. Bring to boil and add the oyster sauce
8. Mix gently then add the diluted coconut milk
9. Boil until the sauce thickens
10. Add brown sugar to taste
11. Serve while hot! Bon appetit! =D

Chicken Adobo with Coconut Milk
-Want different style in your fish? Try this one! Easy and very fun to do!-

Ingredients:
fish fillet (any kind will do)
half amount of tausi (salted black beans)
1 tbsp oyster sauce (you can also use hoisin sauce)
1/2 cup chopped celery (you can also use parsley)
1 onion leeks sliced
1 egg
1 cup cornstarch
1 cup of water

Let's cook!
1. Beat egg then dip fish into beaten egg
2. Coat fish with cornstarch and fry until golden brown. Set aside.
3. In a pan, pour some cooking/vegetable oil
4. Saute onion
5. Add tausi, oyster/hoisin sauce, onion leeks and celery/parsley
6. Mix a little then add 1 cup of water and boil
7. Once it boiled, add the fried fish fillet
8. Mix a little to absorb the sauce
9. Set to low fire to thicken the sauce
10. Add some salt and pepper to taste (I only use pepper and brown sugar)
11. Serve while hot! Bon appetit! =D
